  FEAST DAY: 15th August

Mary is the Mother of God. The divine maternity is the pinnacle of hergreatness, the culminating point to which all the privileges of our motherconverge and from which they radiate. Pope Pius IX defined the doctrineof Mary’s Immaculate Conception as an article of faith and we celebratethis feast on 8th December. The dogma on the Assumption of OurLADY was officially declared by Pope Pius XII, in 1950 which feast iscelebrated on 15th August. The Immaculate Mother of God, the everVirgin Mary was on the completion of her earthly life , assumed bodyand soul into heavenly glory , where she already shares in the glory ofher Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all the membersof his Body.“God could enlarge the world, extend the heavens, but he could makenothing greater than the Mother of God” (St. Boneventure).
